The story so far…

Hi, I’m Luke! A UK wedding photographer based in Cardiff, Wales - thank you for stopping by my website. My first real adventure into the world of photography was during university when I was looking for a way to escape my lectures and coursework - I studied biomedical science at Cardiff University if you’re curious.

A friend of mine asked me to join them in purchasing a camera, to which I said yes, and so began my photographic journey. Over the last 7 years I’ve developed my photography skills and have honed a style that aims to capture the natural, joyful details of life that are often overlooked. Being a photographer based in Cardiff has provided me with many opportunities to capture weddings, couples, and events - which you can see in my portfolio.

Besides photography, here are some other things I love: Jesus, my beautiful wife, running, playing Catan, a good film, and lots of music. As well as freelancing, I also work part-time for a local church in Cathays, as a Worship & Social Media Coordinator.

It’s a such a blessing to be trusted with so many people’s treasured moments. If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your special day, I would love to hear from you.

    At our first meeting, Luke took the time to help us organise our day from start to finish, which really put our minds at rest.     On our wedding day, Luke was exactly where we planned for him to be and at the right time. He not only captured gorgeous photos but made sure we stuck to schedule, which was so helpful. Our wedding ceremony was in a warehouse which isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing building, but the pictures came out so good!

    We were nervous for our couples portraits but Luke directed us so well and we felt so comfortable which was reflected in the photos. We were sent over 800 photos within 7 weeks and each photo was beautiful. We can’t recommend Luke enough! 10/10!!

  • I asked Luke to do a family photoshoot for my parents since we don’t have a picture with all the grandkids together. I warned him in advance that we had a big group: six kids, three babies, a set of grandparents, and three couples.

    He was incredibly patient, and everyone felt at ease around him—even though most of us are quite self-conscious in front of the camera, and the grandparents were even more difficult than the kids! On top of that, we had a few crying babies and tantrums, but Luke managed to keep us calm. He encouraged us to play games, which helped us relax.

    He captured some amazing shots that my parents and everyone can’t wait to hang in their home.

  • A lovely experience with beautiful photos to match!

    My wife and I recently had the opportunity for a couple's photo shoot with Luke and it was fantastic. Other than our wedding, we had never done a professional photo shoot before so we were a little nervous, but Luke made the experience so fun and relaxing that we'd definitely do it again!

    Luke's experience with people was clear as he made us feel totally at ease the whole shoot. We spent most of it laughing whilst Luke was taking photos in the background without it feeling imposing. For us it felt like a lovely walk around the park!

  • Luke's professionalism and ease with people is what sets him apart from many other photographers I’ve worked with. His non-judgemental approach and his intelligent use of ideas, makes him a joy to work with. I have had the privilege of working with him in live contexts (weddings/ gigs) and on a shoot for album cover arts and press photos for myself.

    Each time he has prioritised efficiency, whilst never neglecting the moment, letting inspiration strike whilst maintaining knowledge of what is still to be done and the time contrasts present. In my opinion, the best balance for a photographer and artist to have. I will always recommend him for future events to colleagues and event organisers, the only drawback being if he’s already booked up elsewhere!

We had a useful meeting with him before the wedding to go through the sorts of photos we wanted; Luke was very accommodating and gave us some great suggestions. On the day itself Luke was timely, efficient and a relaxed presence around the venue. He was friendly and helpful when it came to taking the family photos, whilst also providing some lovely 'fly on the wall' pictures which captured the day really well.
